Have you ever tried to purchase a set of rib pads? What aspects of a good set of rib pads do you look for? I decided to purchase a set of rib pads, and I had no idea what I was doing.
I went to a couple of stores and to be honest, all I got from the staff was a regurgitation of text from the brands brochure and other random catch phrases. What really confused me was that the rib pads all seemed to be the same, but the prices varied greatly. In my experience, price isn’t always a good indicator of quality.
My options were many, no obvious points of difference, I wanted a pair and I had the cash. So I sucked it up and bought the most expensive pair. I didn’t feel comfortable making a decision on the strength of a stranger’s Sunday afternoon brain barf and recommended retail price, but I didn’t have much else to go on. The website doesn’t look to be live yet, but they list all the lacrosse rib pads available and with reviews! This is exactly what I needed.
The best part is that they allow players to submit their own lacrosse rib pad reviews, which I think is cool. It would have been nice to know what others thought about their lacrosse rib pads beforehand.
